PUBLICATIONS ON THE POLISH SYSTEM OF EDUCATION
"The System of Education in the Republic of Poland. Schools and diplomas"
This study provides basic information on the system of education in Poland, focusing in particular on its subsequent stages which include primary schools, gymnasiums, secondary schools and higher education schools.
Produced by the Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange, the study is addressed primarily to similar structures, these operating in many countries under the name of ENICs/NARICs. Hence, efforts were taken to include information which may facilitate the work of these centres in the area of equivalence and recognition of certificates and diplomas awarded by various types of schools.
The study contains a description of the types of schools as existing in the school year 1999/2000 as well as information about educational establishments functioning previously. It also gives an insight into new types of schools which will be introduced as part of the school reform initiated in 1999.
Individual types of schools are presented while taking into account issues such as admission requirements, the duration of education in years, information about curricula, the type of certificate or diploma and vocational/professional qualifications obtained as well as further education options.
These issues are also discussed for higher education schools.
The pubilcation was up-dated in 2003. The new version includes references to
legal acts which came in force since the first edition was elaborated.
Additionaly, description of the accreditation and quality assurance system in
Poland has been introduced.

"Guide to Higher Education in Poland 2000"
"Guide to Higher Education in Poland" provides general information on the Polish institutions of
higher education. It gives some statistic data, describes all the types of qualifications obtained during the university career.
It explains the organization of studies and the entrance requirements. It touches also topics
concerning academic recognition of qualifications.
Moreover it discusses also special types and forms of higher education in Poland. Apart from that it contains numerous annexes with more detailed information on some of the
topics mentioned above.
PUBLICATIONS ON OTHER TOPICS
"Suplement do dyplomu"
"Suplement do dyplomu" ("Diploma Supplement") is a publication
prepared for the necessity of implementation of the Diploma Supplement in Poland.
It contains the Polish translation of the final report of the Working Party,
the outline of Diploma Supplement, together with the samples of completed Diploma Supplements
and the recommendations concerning its production.
The publication is available on-line and in printed version.
